Great Great Great Great man!!! I just cannot believe that we have recently lost two of the greatest persons, Piotr and now Andrew. I last spoke to Andrew in August 2023. An amazing man very much loved and respected. A great loss to us, but a fantastic gain to the heavenly / afterlife construction team. Thus looking forward to what afterlife building project both Andrew and Piotr have built!!

It’s extremely sad news to hear of Andrew's passing. I worked for Andrew during a 1 year placement in his temporary works team. But I enjoyed my time so much, I stretched this out to a 2.5 year placement. Andrew was a large reason for this. Despite his fake grumpy persona, he was an exceptionally caring person, who genuinely enjoyed mentoring engineers. Just never call him Andy. As well as temporary works, Andrew blessed me with knowledge of gambling at the horses, fantasy football, travelling the world and many more quirky interests that you couldn’t help but talk about with him. A very interesting person to sit next to for 2.5 years! He had an incredible way of simplifying and explaining any problem into a manageable thought process. I can’t emphasise how much I learnt and how much I enjoyed my time working for him. Laing O’Rourke, Temporary Works and the countless engineers he has mentored are all vastly better off from having known him. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this time.

It was a great shock to hear the very sad news of Andrew's passing. I first met Andrew when he was working on Sizewell B, many years ago and continued to work and socialise with him until leaving LOR in 2010. Very sad news

It's been a pleasure and an honour working with Andrew. I will miss his wit and sense of humour. I will miss his travelling tips and sports chats. Such a great colleague and friend - gone too soon. May he rest in peace.

I usually found Andrew approachable and personable, during my dealings with him over the eight years or so since I first met him. My thoughts go out to his friends and family at this time.

This is such sad news to hear. I really enjoyed working for Andrew during my placement in temporary works; I managed to squeeze an extra half year out of it. Andrew was a big part of that enjoyment and why I wanted to stay on as long as I could. He was very good at mentoring engineers, extremely knowledgeable but also had patience, you would know if you had gone wrong but would always leave that conversation knowing how and why, learning much in the process. Andrew would go the extra mile for people, there were countless times where various projects needed help at short notice and he would be there to help them. I'll miss hearing about his most recent travels and my thoughts are with his family at this time.

Andy was an engineer in the truest sense and I had the pleasure of working with him on a number of projects. He was intelligent without being proud, supportive without being condescending and a great teacher and keen to share knowledge. He was kind, a little eccentric and very very funny. The world is a less place for his passing.

I have known Andrew for 16+ years and was initially working very closely with him for approximately 5 years during our infrastructure days. I always found him very practical and an expert in his respective fields. I am sure he will be greatly missed by the company and in particular his colleagues based in the Manchester office. I offer my sympathy to his family and friends at this time.

I am shocked and saddened to hear this news of Andrew's passing. My prayers and thoughts are with Andrew's Family and close friends. For over 20 years I have worked on, off & alongside Andrew - he has been a most dedicated, conscientious engineer and a friend. Andrew has always taken time out to help anyone. I worked with Andrew for 15 years, he was a really great guy and a pleasure to work with. He must have detailed literally millions of square metres of formwork for the company, and because of this he was known on virtually every project, and was very well respected for his skills. He was modest about his ability, but in truth, Andrew was the man to go to if you had a tricky shaped piece of concrete to cast. His loss will be felt widely at Laing O'Rourke. Andrew had a dry sense of humour, and he also spoke bluntly when he needed to, to make his point, regardless of who he was speaking to. I certainly enjoyed our many conversations over the years and will miss them now. My thoughts and sympathy go to his family.

I have worked for Andrew for all my time at LOR and he is a massive loss. As an engineer he was uncompromising on safety, able to develop simple elegant solutions and his years of experience will be difficult to replace. As a manager he was always supportive, trusting and flexible. I enjoyed working for him and the working environment he created with our team has always been a big positive for me. As a person, once you got past the grumpy old man act, he was funny, thoughtful and a highly principled person. My thoughts go out to his family. I can't begin to comprehend what they must be going through following the other recent losses they have experienced.

I am saddened to hear the news of Andrew's passing. During my short time at here Andrew always took the time to share his knowledge and help wherever he could and he did this with patience and kindness. My thoughts are with all those Andrew has left behind.

I have some fantastic memories working with Andrew, especially in the earlier days of my career where he provided me with so much support, knowledge and advice. Andrew had a passion for what he did and you could see him light up when presented with a challenge or a question. Always one to have fun along the way, too. so shocked to hear this sad news and thoughts to Andrews family. I had the pleasure of sitting near Andrew in the early days of CEMC where we had great like minded conversation, my most memorable moments would be when someone was talking nonsense around us (especially on anything engineering) and glancing at Andrew to see the shake of his head and confused facial expression, he was a joy to work with.

I have had contact with Andrew on and off for the last 10 years and always really looked forward to working with him. I was really shocked to hear of Andrew's passing. I has the pleasure of working with Andrew on Temporary Works schemes on TCR and Heathrow T2 and he was incredibly knowledgeable about everything! He also had a wicked sense of humour and I always enjoyed the photos he would send of ropey scaffolds he had photographed on his travels. RIP.

It is with great shock and sadness that I hear this news. As a site Engineer and junior TWS, Andrew would patiently explain some of the do's and don'ts of his temporary works designs. Later in my career I enjoyed my weekly trips up to CEMC where Andrew was located, and share jokes. I was always a fan of his gruff sense of humour! Andrew you will be missed and my thoughts are with the friends and family you leave behind.

Andrew you will be sorely missed; I remember coming to you in my early career for guidance and advice, and moreover I remember how supportive you were. You had an ability to think differently and made the complicated simple. What you taught me will stay with, for which I am ever grateful. RIP Friend.

This has been a great tragedy for Andrew's family and a huge loss for the whole of the engineering community here at Laing O'Rourke. Andrew will be missed by many, too many to count. He has built a hugely talented cohort of top quality engineers around him so his legacy will live on but his words of wisdom will be missed. RIP Andrew.
